“I am passionate about helping to build a more balanced, inclusive and diverse music industry. There is so much talent and passion amongst young women in the industry, I believe a lack of access, resources and confidence is holding people back. The industry has suffered so much during the pandemic, as we start to rebuild and recover we must use the opportunity to create a more sustainable future for the next generation of talent and that starts by addressing the gender imbalance in the industry and empowering young women to take their first steps into working into music. The work that Moving the Needle is doing is essential and so important - I can't wait to be involved!”
Ellie Bryant
Ellie is the General Manager of The Halley. She has been part of the team since the conception of the space in 2019. The Halley is a creative hub for people working in the music industry in Haggerston. With fully-equipped on-site studios for music and content creation, flexible workspace, and meeting rooms, plus a gallery for exhibitions and events, it is a place where members can grow their network, create impactful work, and join a community. The Halley aims to create a space where music enthusiasts both new and experienced can connect, collaborate and learn from each other.
Ellie advocates for accessibility, diversity, and sustainability within the music industry via her work in The Halley. She is responsible for community outreach at The Halley, and has formed partnerships with a number of local charities and youth groups to provide access to the facilities and community to try and bridge the gap of attainability in the music industry. She is also the program manager of a music business accelerator program run by The Halley, a program she designed to leverage the expertise of members from the Halley community to provide access and mentorship to young music entrepreneurs.
Having always had a passion for community building, prior to working at The Halley Ellie worked for many years in the co-working space industry, living and working in Hong Kong before returning to London, where she is from. Although she has not worked in the music industry for long, it is fair to say she has found her calling and is deeply motivated by the purpose driven mission of The Halley. She is also a budding DJ and loves to go to events and festivals!
